DescriptionGrade UE05: 29179 – 33482 per annum pro rataCSG / Department for Social Responsibility and Sustainability/ Edinburgh Earth InitiativePart Time: 9 hours per weekFixed-term: 9 months from September 2025The School of Engineering Business School and Edinburgh Climate Change Institute are looking for a postgraduate student to contribute to a project to develop a carbon accounting tool to measure and analyse the emissions from anthropogenic fire incidents in Scotland. This post will be appointed at Grade UE05 step 1 which is 29179 per annum pro rata (15.99 per hour). Earth Fellowships are only open to current postgraduate and PhD students at the University of Edinburgh based in the UK. Please do not apply if you are not a current University of Edinburgh student. Your skills and attributes for success:Current University of Edinburgh postgraduate student in the 25/26 academic year. An interest in fire safety environmental science or business analytics.An interest in and willingness to learn about carbon accounting methodologies.Some experience with data manipulation and analysis.Excellent communication skills including the ability to communicate complex information clearly both in writing and in oral presentations.Ability to work proactively with colleagues with a variety of expertise; understanding and valuing different points of view.
