DescriptionPosition DetailsDepartment of Inflammation and Ageing School of Infection Inflammation and Immunology College of Medicine and HealthLocation: University of Birmingham Edgbaston Birmingham UKFull time starting salary is normally in the range 43455 to 73506Grade: ClinicalFull Time Fixed Term contract up to August 2026Closing date: 7th August 2025BackgroundWe are seeking a dynamic clinical research fellow at FY2 level or above to join an established multi-disciplinary team of clinicians and scientists for a one-year post to assist with the running of the REPROGRAM trial.The REPROGRAM trial is a biological endpoints trial nested within an ambitious wider project funded by the Wellcome Leap. It seeks to determine biological changes within the Hallmarks of Ageing following three weeks of a geroprotector. It will analyse this data concurrently with data from the REBOUND study a study of biological changes in older adults following a surgical stressor to determine whether geroprotectors could be utilised successfully in a pre-habilitation window prior to surgery. It is hoped this will lead to further funding in the form of a clinical trial.This trial is being run through the Inflammation Research Facility at the QEHB benefiting from the close links between the University and the Trust.
