Our goal is to provide access to high-quality psychological practice to a range of partners to improve the lives of children and families within our local communities. Our service is growing and we have received funding to support children and young people (CYP) experiencing social emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs particularly school avoidance/non-attendance. We are now actively seeking Assistant EPs to join and contribute to the service as we deliver this work.Our offer currently includes:Work with individual schools including specialist provisionsTraining to support inclusive practice and interventions in schoolsWhole School Approach project work in partnership with Public HealthSupport to the Local Authority including our Critical Incident Response TeamPartnership working with other servicesAbout the RoleAs an Assistant Educational Psychologist in LEPS you will:Assist with development planning and delivery of Educational Psychology services in Leicestershire for the benefit of children and their families.Plan and deliver training and project work including developing training materials evaluation measures data analysis and report preparation.Undertake supervised delivery of Educational Psychology services in schools in partnership with a fully qualified Educational Psychologist.Prepare written feedback and information related to children and young people (always under appropriate supervision from a Qualified EP).Work in partnership with schools settings and other agencies to support inclusive mainstream practice and a sense of belonging.Actively engage in training CPD and professional supervision.Follow and apply the key legislative requirements and Code of Practice that are relevant to Educational Psychology including those relating to SEND and Safeguarding.Support the achievement of the Children and Family Service Directorates goals and ambitions.Actively participate in team activities including team meetings project groups and task and finish groups.Ensure the highest standards of service delivery and customer care are met at all times.Protect and manage information securely reporting breaches or suspected information security breaches in line with Council policies.Demonstrate the Councils values and a commitment to equality diversity and inclusion at all times.A DBS enhanced check for a regulated activity is required for this post.For information on our approach to the recruitment of ex-offenders please see our policy statement.About YouTo apply for this post you must:Please refer to these 7 Essential points when making your application giving examples as evidence of how you meet themGenuine interest in pursuing a career in Educational Psychology and an honours degree in Psychology (2:1 or above) conferring Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership with the British Psychological Society (GBC).Considerable experience of working with children young people parents and other professionals that is relevant to the role and knowledge of how psychology can be applied to improve outcomes for children and young people.The ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders in a range of forms.The ability to work independently across a range of contexts including the delivery of training following initial direction.An understanding of and commitment to equality diversity and inclusion.Demonstrate the Councils values at all times and actively promote them in others.Must be able to perform all duties and tasks with reasonable adjustment where appropriate in accordance with the provisions of the Equality Act 2010Desirable requirements:Experience of working with children and young people with additional educational needsExperience of delivering projects and training Knowledge and understanding of supporting CYP with SEND within LA Partnership and educational contextsKnowledge of legislation relating to education SEND and SafeguardingAs a Leicestershire Assistant EP you will have access to:Induction and training for the roleOngoing support and regular professional supervision from a senior EPWell-appointed central office base and facilities within County Hall GlenfieldLocal touchdown bases across the county to reduce travel timeUp-to-date ICT equipment for mobile / agile workingFlexible family friendly working arrangementsSocial events organised by team members to promote connectednessYou must also have an understanding of and commitment toequality diversity and inclusion.In addition we also expect you to shareour commitment to our valuesand will ask you to evidence when you have demonstrated them as part of the selection process.Reasonable adjustments will be considered for applicants with a disability.Interested in Flexible WorkingWe are keen to support employees to balance their working life with other commitments.
