DescriptionThe Global AI and Data Policy team is tasked with the firms strategy for policy engagements and leadership on artificial intelligence (AI) and data policy.Our team is seeking an Executive Director AI and Data Policy to lead and manage the firms policy advocacy engagement and strategy on AI and data issues in the UK the European Union and the wider EMEA region.This role will involve strategic oversight for and execution of the firms in-region AI and data policy advocacy strategy aligned to the firmwide AI and data policy strategy and in support of key business and corporate responsibility objectives. This is a cross-functional role which will work in close proximity to the firms central and regional Chief Data and Analytics Office and related business teams; Global Government Relations; Regulatory Affairs; Corporate Responsibility; and several other global functions to drive a regional strategy for AI and data issues.Key responsibilities include monitoring and analysis of the AI and data policy environment across the region with particular attention to the European Union and the UK; helping to define public policy objectives and working with Government Relations drive proactive and strategic advocacy; and leading policymaker engagement and stakeholder education on issues relating to data and AI. The Director will play a critical role in in liaising with other partners across the firm to develop and carry forward key messages and advocacy objectives.The position will report to the firms Head of Global AI and Data Policy which is accountable to the firms Head of Global Government Relations and Chief Data and Analytics Officer. The position will also have accountability to the head of EMEA Government Relations. The ideal candidate will be based in Brussels or London with anticipated regional travel as needed. This role will work closely with regional leadership for issues and engagement across Government Relations Regulatory Affairs and Communications.Job ResponsibilitiesWorking closely with relevant team and business leadership oversee and execute the firms strategy on public policy advocacy and engagement on AI and data related matters.Provide internal leadership expertise and analysis on AI and data policy developments in the region political environment and dynamics and related opportunities and headwinds.Engage alongside Government Relations with governments and key policy stakeholders on AI and data issues.Coordinate closely with colleagues in regulatory affairs on financial sector regulatory agency interactions education consultations and policy development and advocacy for AI and data issues in the region.Work with part of a global team to set a global strategy for AI and data issues on behalf of JPMC with an interest in contributing to a cohesive international advocacy strategy supporting key business priorities for the firm. Work closely with key regional and firmwide internal technology product governance and controls legal and other counterparts to ensure policy advocacy is informed by business goals and vis versa.Spearhead and conduct proactive education campaigns to support enhanced understanding among public policymakers regulators legislators and other government officials on AI and data issues in region.Collaborate with team members and colleagues in Corporate Responsibility to leverage JPMCs relationships with third parties trade associations and research partnership and advocacy resources in support of an AI and data policy strategy.Ensure consistent messaging and coordination across internal teams to support the firms AI data and technology policy objectives.Required qualifications capabilities and skillsExtensive experience in policy advocacy government relations or a related role with a focus on AI data and technology policy.Deep familiarity with European policy development processes and major legislative frameworks related to technology and data.Strong understanding of AI/data products governance and public policy and related issues including regulatory and social impact considerations.Proven track record of managing strategic relationships with external stakeholders including elected and public agency officials; trade associations; industry coalitions; research institutions; and civil society organizations.Strong internal stakeholder management experience including in building consensus inside of large organizations working in a highly cross-functional environment and coordinating work across diverse internal teams to drive results.Excellent communication writing and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively engage with diverse audiences and build consensus.Demonstrated ability to think strategically and develop innovative solutions to complex policy challenges.Experience communicating with senior executives and senior external stakeholders including senior government officials.A creative collegial and flexible mindset and an interest in being an early contributor to a new and growing team.Preferred qualifications capabilities and skillsUniversity degree or equivalent experience.Strong network of leaders across the European Union and the UK on AI policy issues.ABOUT USJPMorgan Chase & Co. The CDAO is also responsible for developing and implementing solutions that support the firms commercial goals by harnessing artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies to develop new products improve productivity and enhance risk management effectively and responsibly.JPMorganChases Global AI and Data Policy Office is responsible for setting the firms overall strategy for policy engagements and leadership on artificial intelligence (AI) and data issues at a global level.
