For September 2026, we are seeking to appoint a Spanish Language Assistant to support the learning and teaching of Spanish at Dr Challoner’s Grammar School. This role is offered as a one-year fixed-term contract from September 2026 to August 2027.
Responsibilities
- Working independently with small groups of senior students to develop their spoken Spanish and oral competency, and occasionally with larger groups or whole classes of junior students.
- Preparing resources and delivering oral lessons and assessments, as well as planning and teaching sequences of lessons, while liaising closely with the class teacher.
Qualifications
- Proficient Spanish speaker with the ability to prepare and effectively deliver lessons that meet curriculum requirements.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, the ability to relate well to young people, and effective teamwork.
- Some experience of working in an environment providing support for young people; previous school experience desirable but not essential.
