For September 2026, DCGS is seeking a French Language Assistant to support the learning and teaching of French at Dr Challoner's Grammar School. This is a one-year fixed‑term contract from September 2026 to August 2027.
Responsibilities
- The role involves working independently with small groups of senior students to develop their spoken French and oral competency, and occasionally with larger groups or whole classes of junior students.
- You will prepare resources, deliver oral lessons and assessments, and plan and teach sequences of lessons, liaising closely with the class teacher.
Qualifications
- Proficient French speaker capable of preparing and effectively delivering lessons that meet curriculum requirements.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to relate well to young people and work effectively as part of a team.
- Some experience working in environments that support young people; previous school experience is desirable but not essential.
