The Fashion Retail Shop Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our flagship store, ensuring the development of the team, delivery of exceptional customer service, and achieving sales targets. The role requires strong leadership, organisational skills, and a keen understanding of the luxury fashion sector. The manager acts as the primary point of contact between staff, customers, and head office, maintaining high standards in all aspects of store management.

Main Responsibilities

  • Store Operations: Manage all aspects of store operations, including opening and closing procedures, stock management, merchandising, and adherence to company policies.
  • Staff Management: Manage, train, supervise, and motivate store staff to ensure optimal performance and excellent customer service. Conduct regular performance reviews and foster a positive working environment.
  • Customer Service: Deliver outstanding customer service, address customer enquiries and complaints promptly, and ensure a welcoming atmosphere within the store.
  • Sales and Profitability: Monitor sales figures and track against targets, analyse trends, and implement strategies to maximise profitability. Achieve or exceed sales targets and manage budgets effectively.
  • Visual Merchandising: Maintain high standards of visual merchandising in line with DPUS brand guidelines, ensuring displays are attractive, relevant to the local audience, and reflect current fashion trends.
  • Inventory Control: Oversee stock levels, conduct regular inventory checks, and coordinate with office and suppliers to ensure timely replenishment of goods.
  • Health and Safety: Ensure the store complies with health and safety regulations, maintaining a safe environment for customers and staff.
  • Reporting: Prepare and submit regular reports on sales, stock, and staff performance to head office as required.

Requirements

  • Minimum of two years’ management experience in fashion retail.
  • Experience with inventory software.
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent.
  • Strong leadership qualities and excellent communication skills.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and delivering superior customer service.
  • Exceptional organisational and time management abilities.
  • Commercially driven with an eye for retail innovation.

Working Conditions

You will be based in-store, working in accordance with the store opening hours as required, including weekends and bank holidays. The role involves standing for extended periods and occasional lifting of stock.
