Join the Steel Hunters team as a UI Tech Artist working on the newly announced free-to-play mech shooter game by Wargaming, one of the world's leading publishers of free-to-play games. This strategic and tactical game in Unreal Engine 5 combines mech hero combat with Battle Royale and Extraction gameplay in a rich, futuristic setting, where players compete over a rare resource called Starfall. Each Hunter has unique abilities and progression paths, setting the stage for intense battles.
You will be a hardworking, self-motivated team player who can work closely with the Lead UI Artist, Art Director, and Art Production Director to create and manage large sections of the game. You should possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, be receptive to critique, and able to provide constructive feedback to external partners, actively participating in group discussions. In this role, you will work within a multidisciplinary, global development team, sharing your knowledge and continuously developing your skills through collaboration. The UI Tech Artist will report to the Lead UI Artist/Art Production Director.
What will you do?
- Implement graphically appealing and innovative UI designs within Unreal Engine.
- Develop Unreal prototypes and Blueprints to implement UI designs.
- Collaborate closely with UX design, UI, and technical teams, along with the Art & UI Directors.
What are we looking for?
- Experience with Unreal Engine, with at least one full production cycle completed.
- Proficiency in developing UI prototypes using Blueprints.
- Knowledge of working with 2D and 3D assets.
- Understanding of asset optimization and rendering techniques.
- Experience in implementing graphically innovative UI.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to give and receive critique professionally.
- Strong self-management skills regarding individual and team tasks, schedules, and budgets.
- Strong organizational skills, with a focus on optimization and asset management.
Additional skills that will stand out:
- Knowledge of motion graphics in Adobe After Effects.
- Scripting experience in After Effects.
- Knowledge of 3ds Max.
