• Position: Full time – Southampton, UK Salary: £38,948 per year (estimated)

Role Overview

Take responsibility for a designated local route, ensuring every parcel reaches its destination with reliable, timely service.

With approximately 15 stops a day, you will be the primary problem‑solver and the face of DPD in the community.

Responsibilities

• Drive a 7.5 tonne vehicle safely, professionally and efficiently along local routes.
• Use Saturn handheld devices for route planning, tracking progress, managing deliveries and staying ahead of the day’s schedule.
• Greet customers with a friendly presence, delivering a positive DPD experience.
• Load and unload parcels using sack barrows and hand trucks, performing physical lifting in a safe and efficient manner.
• Act as the final authority for route completion, ensuring all deliveries are confirmed and accurate.

Qualifications

• Valid C1 7.5 tonne licence and DQC/CPC accreditation.
• Minimum of 6 months recent driving experience with 7.5 tonne vehicles.
• Professional, approachable, and able to work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment.
• Physically fit and comfortable with the lifting demands of the role.
• Respectful treatment of customers and colleagues, with strong communication skills.
