We are currently recruiting for an experienced Shift Manager to help strengthen our depot operations management team.
In this role, you will work closely with our self-employed Owner Drivers (ODs) and Employed Drivers, building strong relationships with them and keeping the drivers engaged, well-managed, and motivated to ensure outstanding service is delivered.
Key responsibilities include:
- Achieving depot targets for Core Routes
- Meeting Stops Per Route (SPR) targets
- Properly setting all other delivery & collection routes
- Ensuring drivers scan and load their vans safely, timely, and efficiently
- Maintaining ongoing communication with drivers to resolve issues
- Providing resources for ad-hoc collections via drivers or couriers/agencies
- Completing all documentation and systems accurately, complying with company and legislative requirements
- Setting and monitoring KPIs related to Service, Cost, Productivity, Transport, and Health & Safety
- Achieving \'Depot Clear\' in line with depot targets
Qualifications and Experience:
- Experience in a fast-paced operation with proven people management skills, ideally within a transport setting
- Strong communication skills to inspire and motivate teams
- Decisive with effective problem-solving and time management skills
- High resilience, self-motivation, and flexibility
- Excellent computer skills, including Google Chrome applications
- Ability to conduct comprehensive data reporting and analysis
- Vigilance against unscrupulous activity with swift action
