As our Fleet Ambassador, your key objective is to ensure that all vehicles are checked for condition and roadworthiness, adhering to legal, corporate image, and operational standards. Exceptions should be reported via the vehicle check app and defect procedure. You will ensure all drivers identify and report defects correctly and that these are rectified. Responsibilities include conducting start and end of contract handovers for Owner Driver leased vehicles, supporting depot operations through regular site and equipment checks, and reporting fleet accidents on the TranMan portal.
Key Daily Checks
- Check all fleet vehicles, including rental vehicles, daily, and record their condition via the Vehicle App.
- Ensure all 3.5 Tonne Vans do not exceed 3.5 tonnes weight using the weighbridge.
- VOR (vehicle off road) checks for damaged or defective vehicles.
- Inspect all vehicle equipment, including material handling tools, jump packs, fuel pumps, and enclosures.
- Adhere to health and safety rules on-site, ensuring clear traffic flow and effective parking.
- Ensure drivers wear correct DPD uniforms and that vans are maintained to company standards and kept clean.
Key Weekly Checks
- If damage is found on Owner Driver vehicles, populate a 21-day notice via the app.
- Record all 21-day and 7-day notices in a shared Google Calendar with the Transport Team.
- Review outstanding notices with the Depot Quality Manager or Depot Manager.
- Conduct weekly checks on the HGV fleet for discrepancies.
- Check and reorder fleet stock items like mirrors, lamps, and bulbs as needed.
- Ensure the gritter is operational and clean during winter; report defects to the Regional Transport Engineer.
