The Senior Procurement Manager shall provide category leadership and procurement best practice across IT Infrastructure (Datacentres, Networks, Cyber), Customer Communications Technology, Applications, Professional Services and Hardware (EUC and Infra) as well as support wider strategic transformational systems Projects.

Spend remit is c.£50M p/a.

Implement and maintain best practice for end-to-end management of all key supplier decisions, sourcing process, negotiation strategy, financial analysis, contracting, ongoing supplier management and business performance improvement.

Collaborate with broader Geopost functions and subsidiaries to create value, leverage scale and optimise enterprise-wide benefits., 1.

Define, develop and deliver, short, medium to long term procurement category strategies across relevant category area(s) that are aligned to stakeholder and business needs.

  • Develop multi-year sourcing pipelines that drive total value, including significant cost savings against agreed targets and strive for continuous improvement.
  • Execute and lead all category sourcing activities, including RFI/RFP development, negotiation strategy, pricing models and implementation.
  • Drive change through skilled stakeholder influencing and cross-departmental collaboration.
  • Perform detailed supply market analysis to determine trends and innovation.
  • Maintain regular and effective internal communication with all stakeholder departments.
  • Building close relationships with operations and finance and contributing to budgets, advising any shortfall/ benefits for the coming year.
  • Represent Procurement in Geopost European sourcing initiatives where required.
  • Manage strategic supplier service performance in conjunction with operations and the business in line with contract commitments, KPI's, SLA's seeking to improve where possible.
  • Supplier segmentation strategies and optimising the supply base.
  • Re-negotiating legacy agreements where there is business advantage.
  • Presenting ideas to senior level stakeholders and gaining buy-in where required.
  • Manage internal and external benchmarking on portfolio of categories.
  • Ensure category spend taxonomy for relevant areas are kept updated.
  • Ensure contract databases are kept updated.
  • Work closely with Legal department to ensure robust contractual agreements are put in place to minimise operational and commercial risk.
  • Drive procurement policy compliance with stakeholders and relevant business functions.
  • Create procurement market analysis tendering within relevant systems for decision making audit purposes.
  • Factor sustainability credentials and innovation into supplier award decision making.
  • Work closely with Quality, Risk and Operations to drive service quality enhancements.
  • Leadership of IT Commercial organisation

    Educated to Degree Level in a Business or Economics related field (desirable)
  • MCIPS or working towards MCIPS status (desirable)
  • Relevant experience sourcing GNFR business products and services (cross-category), ideally within the Logistics sector
  • Advanced commercial negotiation skills e. g. GAP Negotiation
  • Proactive relationship building, networking and influencing skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with people at all levels
  • Demonstrable track record in achieving significant savings and influencing people of all levels
  • Demonstrable track record in communicating ideas to senior management
  • Demonstrable track record in managing supplier relationships and improving performance

    Contract: Permanent / 37.5 Hours Per Week
  • Salary: Circa £82,500 plus company car or cash alternative, bonus and Private Medical Insurance.
  • Location: Birmingham, however open to be based elsewhere with mandatory travel to Oldbury 3 times per week.
  • Days of Work: Monday to Friday ( Hybrid )
