Sustainable Parcel Transport Specialist (Apply in minutes)

● Contract: Permanent 40 Hours Per Week minimum
● Hourly Rate: £15.28ph + £2.52ph additional night rate between 18:00 to 06:00 + £19.86 subsistence allowance per day + £8.81 food allowance per day.

● Days of Work: Monday to Friday
● Shift Window: 12:00 – 21:00

As a Class 1 Tramper driver, youll be responsible for:
● Making bulk collections & deliveries between various DPD sites and customers nationwide
● Operating and maintaining a modern fleet of vehicles on an agreed shift pattern
● Delivering palette loads to HGV-friendly locations efficiently and safely
● Completing a minimum of 4 nights per week, sleeping in your vehicle at one of our secure locations
● Covering a set region surrounding your base depot
● Conducting thorough pre-trip inspections of your vehicle to ensure roadworthiness
● Accurately completing all required paperwork, including delivery notes and vehicle logs
● Adhering to all UK road traffic laws and regulations, including drivers hours rules
● Maintaining excellent communication with the transport office, customers, and other drivers
● Representing DPD professionally at all times, providing exceptional customer service
● Reporting any incidents, accidents, or near-misses promptly and accurately
● Participating in regular safety briefings and training sessions as required
● Assisting with loading and unloading of goods when necessary, following proper manual handling procedures
● Ensuring the security of the vehicle and its load at all times
● Adapting to changing route requirements and weather conditions as needed
What we are looking for:
● A valid UK Class 1 Driving Licence
● Minimum 12 months Class 1 experience
● A valid UK CPC Card
● A valid UK Digital Tachograph Card
● Someone who demonstrates the core DPD DNA values of Passion, Respect, Honesty, Flexibility, Caring and Accountability
● Excellent time management skills and ability to work independently
● Strong geographical knowledge of UK roads and motorways
● Proficiency in using satellite navigation systems
● Physical fitness to handle loading and unloading of goods when required
● Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
● A clean driving record with no major traffic violations
● Flexibility to work varying shifts when required
● Basic mechanical knowledge for conducting vehicle inspections and minor repairs
● Ability to maintain accurate logs and complete necessary paperwork
● Commitment to maintaining a high standard of vehicle cleanliness and presentation
