This is a critical strategic role within our Network Finance Team, operating across our Network of depots. You will serve as a financial expert, working closely with the Network Senior Finance Managers and the Regional Finance team to spearhead specific, high-visibility projects. This is a dynamic position where your ability to develop strong relationships across the business and with external stakeholders will directly influence our national operational success.
Key Tasks/Areas of Responsibility
- Drive Operational Excellence: Improve the efficiency of our core processes while driving standardisation across sectors and the entire Network
- Strategic Insights: Provide clear, data-driven insights into actual results and overall business performance to guide executive strategy
- Value Creation: Proactively identify cost savings, operational efficiencies, and potential risks for the Network and the wider business, as well as delivery plans to achieve these
- Process Transformation: Review, challenge, and redesign existing reporting processes to facilitate agile decision-making, introducing robust new controls where required
- Project Delivery: Take the lead on high-impact projects, ensuring consistent delivery that is ‘on time and in full’
- Collaborative Alignment: Work seamlessly alongside the wider Finance function to champion consistency and ensure we are all driven by "same goal" practices
- Agile Support: Provide dynamic, ad-hoc reporting and analytics to empower the Senior Finance Managers
Qualifications Experience required
- Qualifications: ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified (or possess an equivalent certification)
- Analytical Prowess: Strong analytical skills, keen eye for detail and ability to present complex results in a simple, clear manner
- Tech Savvy: Strong working knowledge of Microsoft and Google Reporting Suite applications
- Stakeholder Mastery: Natural Business Partner capable of influencing and collaborating at all levels within the Network
- Strategic Mindset: Willingness to challenge the status quo regarding all reporting and operational practices
- Proactive Problem Solver: Problem-solving attitude with drive to deliver results, constantly looking for continuous improvement in your area of responsibility and beyond
