Job Description
Our Health and Safety General Manager, covering the DPD Network, is recruiting for an outstanding Health and Safety Advisor to join their team. You will help drive a high standard of Health and Safety across the sites you support. You will be responsible for checking and monitoring that those working within Network sites are operating safely and in compliance with site rules, as well as making recommendations and supporting investigations into health and safety matters. You must be able to work effectively in a team and communicate clearly to all levels within the organisation.
Responsibilities
- Travel to various sites to conduct onsite visits at key operational times, monitoring that high standards of health and safety are being adhered to.
- Provide clear, concise and supportive recommendations to sites for improving health and safety compliance.
- Support sites in health and safety investigations.
- Record findings in the relevant health and safety reporting systems.
- Collaborate with the wider health and safety team on compliance and health and safety improvement projects.
Qualifications
- Ideally previous experience in a compliance or health and safety role with some health and safety qualifications or training.
- Understanding of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and supporting legislation (minimum).
- Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate to a high standard in various formats.
- Ability to work on your own initiative, prioritise and manage time effectively.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team due to the size of the operation.
- Strong IT skills with experience using Microsoft packages or Google Suite.
- If not already holding health and safety qualifications, ability to study to achieve a NEBOSH diploma (or similar level) within the first 3 years of employment.

- Possess a full valid driving licence.
- Be flexible to travel and to work a varied shift pattern to meet business requirements.
