Responsibilities
As Logistics Shift Manager, you will be a crucial member of the management team overseeing the smooth running of the DPD Logistics operation. You will have First Lane Manager responsibility for ensuring the successful day-to-day running and operational performance and procedures within a section of the DPD Logistics warehouse. You will help DPD Logistics achieve outstanding service to our customers and meet challenging objectives around Productivity, Cost, Quality, and Health and Safety.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities
- Control a team of Warehouse Operatives and deliver the day-to-day requirements of the warehouse.
- Ensure resources are in place to meet variable demand patterns as agreed with the Warehouse Operations Manager.
- Manage staffing levels in terms of areas worked and breaks taken to achieve KPIs for productivity, costs to plan, and accuracy of warehouse processes.
- Complete daily operational reports.
- Monitor and champion levels of service provided and actively seek and lead improvement activities.
- Assist in the planning and implementation of new contracts.
- Follow and promote all policies and procedures, including HR, Health and Safety, Quality, and Housekeeping, ensuring any training requirements are met.
- Carry out any other duties necessary to fulfil the operational requirements.
Qualifications

- Experience in a logistics operation with proven people management experience, involving direct accountability and responsibility for motivating and leading a high-performing team.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to inspire, motivate, and manage a team.
- Decisive and effective decision-making, problem resolution, and time management skills.
- High levels of resilience, self-motivation, and flexibility.
- Excellent computer skills with the ability to use Google Chrome applications.
- The ability to do comprehensive reporting, alongside analysis of data.
- A vigilant approach to any unscrupulous activity, taking swift and appropriate action when required.
