Location: Croydon, London City or London Docklands Depot. Days of Work: Monday to Friday. Start Window: 12:00 to 21:00. Contract: Permanent, 40 hours per week minimum. Hourly Rate: £17.91ph plus £2.72ph night rate (18:00 to 06:00) plus £19.86 subsistence allowance per day plus £8.81 food allowance per day.

Job Description
As a Class 1 Relief / Tramper driver, you will be entrusted with the critical responsibility of executing bulk collections and deliveries between various DPD sites and customers throughout the United Kingdom. You will help maintain the efficiency and reliability of our logistics network. As this is a Relief / Tramping role, you will be required to sleep in your lorry 4 nights a week at a secure DPD Location.
Responsibilities
- Operating state-of-the-art heavy goods vehicles to transport pallet loads to HGV-compatible locations.
- Adhering strictly to predetermined shift patterns to ensure timely and consistent service delivery.
- Demonstrating a high level of commitment by undertaking a minimum of four nights per week away from base, utilising secure company locations for overnight stays.
- Maintaining absolute professionalism while representing DPD during all customer interactions.
- Efficiently managing and being accountable for a designated regional territory surrounding your assigned base depot.
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant road safety regulations and company policies.
- Upholding the highest standards of vehicle maintenance and cleanliness to reflect the company\’s commitment to excellence.
- Accurately completing all necessary documentation and digital records associated with deliveries and collections.
- Proactively communicating with dispatch and management teams to address any operational challenges or delays.
- This role demands a high degree of responsibility, self-motivation, and dedication to maintaining DPD\’s reputation for exceptional service in the logistics industry.
Qualifications
What we\’re looking for:
- A valid UK Class 1 Driving Licence
- Minimum 12 months Class 1 experience
- A valid UK CPC Card
- A valid UK Digital Tachograph Card
- Ability to load/unload trailers where needed
- Excellent geographical knowledge of UK roads and delivery routes
