Hours of Work: 05:00 - 13:30

Our Site Manager is currently recruiting for a dedicated and reliable Goods on Hold Operative to help strengthen our depot operations team. In this role you will work closely with the Operations Manager and be accountable for the held parcel process within the depot to achieve deadlines and targets. You will ensure maximum visibility of a parcel during its life cycle and make sure the parcel is presented for delivery on the required date, resolving customer queries and dealing with depot collections.

Other key accountabilities include:

  • Ensuring all ‘unable to locate’ parcels have the correct delivery information.
  • Handling damaged or open parcels by taking them to the goods on hold area for further investigation.
  • Being accountable for requesting further information or returning parcels to the customer.
  • Completing the administration of mis-routed and mislabelled parcels.
  • Working closely with senior management and the security department to identify and prevent fraudulent consignments.
  • Carrying out housekeeping checks.
  • Handling any customer parcel searches as requested.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a fast‑paced administrative role, ideally within a warehouse or customer‑facing environment.
  • High level of accuracy, self‑motivation and organisation.
  • Strong communication skills and confidence interacting with customers over the phone and face‑to‑face.
  • Excellent administration skills with the ability to use Microsoft Office applications.
  • Outstanding attention to detail, including security awareness.
