Due to the launch of our new Hub Operation supporting our expanding Out-of-Home (OOH) network—including automated parcel lockers and PUDO pickup points—we are recruiting an experienced Sortation Manager to join our hub operations team. In this role, you will lead high-volume sortation to ensure seamless, accurate processing for customer-convenient deliveries.
We are currently recruiting for an outstanding Hub Manager to join our senior Hub management team, to help our people to achieve ever-greater heights by leading and inspiring from the front. Could this be you?
DPD have 5 Hub Operations based across Smethwick, Oldbury and Hinckley that are supported by over 1,000 committed team members. In this role you will be based at our Hinckley Hub. You will be responsible for the management, guidance and support to your operations team.
Additionally you’ll also be focussed on:
- Achieving all Hub objectives to include; Health & Safety, productivity, security, throughput, and cost.
- Delivering outstanding service to our customers.
- Leadership of the Hub management team including, learning, development and any HR related issues.
- Managing P&L through effective planning and reporting.
Qualifications
What we’re looking for:
- You will have extensive experience in logistics, warehouse or distribution industries with knowledge of plant operations or production management. It would be advantageous if you have a Six Sigma Qualification.
- You will have the ability to run a large fast paced, 24/7 operation leading at least 250 people.
- You will have strong leadership and communication skills as well as the ability to influence strategy and liaise with Senior Management.
- Decisive and effective decision-making, problem resolution and time management skills.
- Demonstrate high levels of resilience, self-motivation and flexibility.
- Demonstrate the core DPD DNA values of Passion, Respect, Honesty, Flexibility, Caring and Accountability.
Job Specifics
You will have a comprehensive induction to DPD, this will include both a corporate induction followed by a thorough induction of our hub operations which includes; plant operations, labour planning, financial and systems.
You will also spend some time within the Network and Linehaul Department to understand the interconnections between the Hubs and other operational areas of the business. Full UK driving licence is essential.
