Contract Details
- Contract: Permanent, 40 hours per week
- Salary: ÂŁ30,489.38 per annum
- Location: Hub 4 Workshop, Hinkley, Logix Road, Hinckley LE10 3BQ
- Days of Work: Monday to Friday
- Hours of Work: 08:00 – 16:30 and 13:30 – 22:00 (rotated weekly)
HGV Breakdown & Service Advisor
Key Responsibilities
- Ensuring roadworthiness and effective maintenance of all company-operated HGVs that are maintained externally.
- Ensure externally maintained vehicles and trailers are fit and roadworthy in accordance with relevant legislation.
- Ensure maintenance contracts include all relevant operator licensing requirements, adequate facilities, competent staff and regular compliance audits.
- Adhere to all agreed criteria and KPIs in the Service Level Agreement and manage external repairers to maintain VOR levels within agreed parameters.
- As required by the National HGV Maintenance Manager, manage aspects of the HGV External R&M P&L.
- Manage maintenance schedule and bookings for all externally maintained HGVs: ensure planned maintenance occurs within legal limits and liaise with contractors, manufacturers, hire companies, and dealers.
- Confirm bookings and inform relevant operators to facilitate maintenance.
- Review maintenance documents such as inspection sheets and complete them to standard required by legislation (e.g., GTMR).
- Support a robust “Driver Reportable Defect” process, review defects, and escalating to the relevant operator.
- Escalate appropriately when a vehicle is likely to become overdue for planned maintenance.
- Provide administrative support to the HGV Department: ordering fuel, transferring vehicles on and off fleet, processing supplier invoices, issuing POs to external repairers, chasing workshops for updates, quality checking paperwork, raising VOR defects, uploading scheduled work documents to the inhouse datalive system (MOT, brake test, tacho), inputting mileage readings for compliance purposes.
- Handle inbound/outbound calls from depots, drivers, customers to report faults; place jobs with repairers via phone or portal; liaise with repairers to ensure repairs and communicate with the wider business as needed.
Qualifications
- Excellent administration skills; able to manage workload and time effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
- High standard of computer literacy, thorough knowledge of Google Suite / Microsoft Office.
- Excellent communication skills, able to communicate effectively at all levels.
- High attention to detail to produce accurate and quality work.
- Proactive and supportive team player.
