Our Network Engineering Manager is currently recruiting for an experienced Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Engineer (known internally as Network Sortation Engineer) to help strengthen our existing team and deliver outstanding service to our Network of Depots across the UK. In this role you will cover a number of depots across the South (West and East London) ensuring that equipment is maintained and any repairs are carried out promptly so that the delivery of service to customers remains world‑class. You will be responsible for all aspects of maintenance and breakdowns on sortation equipment from both an electrical and mechanical perspective. Due to the nature of our business this role will require you to work night shifts on a Panama pattern of 22:00 – 10:00.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to breakdowns with extensive fault finding (both electrical and mechanical)
- Complete ad‑hoc job requests for repairs on all sortation equipment
- Carry out all PPM and reactive maintenance of sortation equipment
- Perform servicing work, including completing service reports and internal systems as required
- Use SCADA systems to aid fault finding of all sortation systems
- Liaise with other departments (Security, Operations, IT) regarding maintenance and repair work to meet business and operational requirements
- Adhere to and promote health & safety policies (including COSHH)
Qualifications & Experience
To be considered for this role you should have completed a recognised engineering, maintenance engineering or general engineering apprenticeship or hold an appropriate engineering qualification (HND/HNC) with an electrical bias. You must be comfortable working autonomously with the ability to self‑manage and deliver effective, timely service to your cluster of depots. Additional expected attributes include:
- Experience in a fast‑paced automated environment with demonstrable electrical and mechanical repair skills
- Experience repairing and servicing conveyor systems
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to work effectively under pressure within time constraints
- High levels of resilience, self‑motivation and flexibility
- Strong team player with a “can‑do” mentality

- A full UK driving licence (required for travel between depots)
