Overview

Goods on Hold Operative role at DPD UK, Bridgwater, England, United Kingdom. Join our depot operations team within a fast-paced logistics environment.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Operations Manager to manage the held parcel process within the depot to meet deadlines and targets.
  • Ensure maximum visibility of a parcel during its life cycle and present the parcel for delivery on the required date.
  • Resolve customer queries and handle depot collections.
  • Ensure all “unable to locate” parcels have correct delivery information.
  • If parcels are damaged or open, move them to the goods on hold area for further investigation.
  • Request further information or return items to customers as needed.
  • Complete administration for mis-routed and mislabelled parcels.
  • Work with senior management and security to identify and prevent fraudulent consignments.
  • Carry out housekeeping checks and handle customer parcel searches as requested.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a fast-paced administrative role, ideally within a warehouse environment or customer-facing role.
  • High level of accuracy, self-motivation and organisation.
  • Strong communication skills, confident interacting with customers over the phone and in person.
  • Excellent administration skills with the ability to use Microsoft Office programs.
  • Outstanding attention to detail and security awareness.
