Job Description
As a Collection and Delivery Driver for DPD, you\’ll be the face of our company and play a crucial role in ensuring customer satisfaction. Your responsibilities will include:
- Serving as the first point of contact for our customers, providing exceptional service when collecting or delivering parcels
- Starting your shift at the depot, where you\’ll be responsible for efficiently loading parcels onto your 3.5 tonne van
- Following a daily delivery schedule and managing your route effectively to ensure timely collections and deliveries
- Safely operating and maintaining the 3.5 tonne van, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies
- Accurately scanning and recording parcel information using handheld devices
- Collecting signatures and other necessary proof of delivery from customers
- Promptly reporting any delivery issues, vehicle problems, or customer concerns to your supervisor
- Maintaining a clean and organised van, conducting daily vehicle checks, and reporting any maintenance needs
- Adapting to changing weather conditions and adjusting your delivery approach accordingly
- Collaborating with depot staff and other drivers to ensure smooth operations and efficient parcel sorting
- Wearing the provided uniform and personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times while on duty

To be considered for the role you must have:
Held a full UK driving licence and had regular driving experience for 12 months or more
We are also looking for you to demonstrate that you:
- Recognise the value of providing great customer service
- Can work to deadlines, are flexible and always go above and beyond
- Are friendly, approachable, positive, resourceful and professional
- Are able to multi-task and problem solve
- Have the ability to lift, load and carry parcels weighing up to 25kg / 30kg
- Possess excellent time management and organisational skills
- Have a good level of physical fitness to meet the demands of the role
- Can work independently and as part of a team
- Have basic computer skills and the ability to use handheld devices
- Are comfortable working in various weather conditions
- Have a good knowledge of local roads and geography
