Job Description
As a Collection and Delivery Driver for DPD, you\'ll be the face of our company and play a crucial role in ensuring customer satisfaction. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Serving as the first point of contact for our customers, providing exceptional service when collecting or delivering parcels
  • Starting your shift at the depot, where you\'ll be responsible for efficiently loading parcels onto your 3.5 tonne van
  • Following a daily delivery schedule and managing your route effectively to ensure timely collections and deliveries
  • Safely operating and maintaining the 3.5 tonne van, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies
  • Accurately scanning and recording parcel information using handheld devices
  • Collecting signatures and other necessary proof of delivery from customers
  • Promptly reporting any delivery issues, vehicle problems, or customer concerns to your supervisor
  • Maintaining a clean and organised van, conducting daily vehicle checks, and reporting any maintenance needs
  • Adapting to changing weather conditions and adjusting your delivery approach accordingly
  • Collaborating with depot staff and other drivers to ensure smooth operations and efficient parcel sorting
  • Wearing the provided uniform and personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times while on duty

Qualifications
What we\'re looking for:
To be considered for the role you must have:
Held a full UK driving licence and had regular driving experience for 12 months or more
We are also looking for you to demonstrate that you:
  • Recognise the value of providing great customer service
  • Can work to deadlines, are flexible and always go above and beyond
  • Are friendly, approachable, positive, resourceful and professional
  • Are able to multi-task and problem solve
  • Have the ability to lift, load and carry parcels weighing up to 30kg
  • Possess excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Have a good level of physical fitness to meet the demands of the role
  • Can work independently and as part of a team
  • Have basic computer skills and the ability to use handheld devices
  • Are comfortable working in various weather conditions
  • Have a good knowledge of local roads and geography
The following would be advantageous, but not essential:
  • Previous experience in a delivery or logistics role
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations in the transport industry
