Overview
Collection and Delivery Driver – 3.5 Tonne at DPD UK. Permanent full-time role based in Sittingbourne.
Salary and schedule
- Salary: £13.00ph + overtime paid at enhanced rate
- Shift Pattern: Monday – Friday
- Earliest start times 8:00am and latest finish times 7:00pm (examples include 8:00am–4:30pm or 9:00am–5:30pm)

What you’ll do
- Serve as the first point of contact for customers, providing excellent service when collecting or delivering parcels
- Start your shift at the depot and load parcels onto your 3.5 tonne van
- Follow a daily delivery schedule and manage your route to ensure timely collections and deliveries
- Safely operate and maintain the 3.5 tonne van, adhering to traffic laws and company policies
- Accurately scan and record parcel information using handheld devices
- Collect signatures and other proof of delivery from customers
- Report delivery issues, vehicle problems, or customer concerns to your supervisor
- Maintain a clean and organized van, conduct daily vehicle checks, and report maintenance needs
- Adapt to changing weather conditions and adjust delivery approaches accordingly
- Collaborate with depot staff and other drivers to ensure smooth operations and efficient parcel sorting
- Wear the provided uniform and PPE at all times while on duty

Qualifications
What we’re looking for:
- Held a full UK driving licence with regular driving experience for 12 months or more
- Value great customer service
- Ability to meet deadlines, be flexible, and go above and beyond
- Friendly, approachable, positive, resourceful and professional
- Ability to multi-task and problem solve
- Ability to lift, load and carry parcels up to 25–30kg
- Excellent time management and organisational skills
- Good physical fitness to meet job demands
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Basic computer skills and ability to use handheld devices
- Comfortable working in various weather conditions
- Good knowledge of local roads and geography
