Job Location: Vulcan Way, Ferndown Industrial Estate, Ferndown, BH21 7BU – DPD Depot Bournemouth, Unit 12, Cobham Gate, Ferndown.

Contract & Working Hours:

  • Contract Type: Permanent (40 Hours per week)
  • Days of Work: Monday to Friday
  • Start Window: 14:00 – 18:00
  • Shift pattern: 4 nights out per week (sleeping in cab at secure DPD sites)

Pay & Perks:

  • Pay: £16.35 per hour (or £17.91 for London Allowance Depots) + £2.72 per hour night premium

Role Overview:

As a LGV Relief/Tramper Driver you will be a critical link in the DPD network, handling major bulk movements across the UK. You will manage routes independently using the latest GPS and logistics technology, ensuring timely delivery of pallet loads.

Responsibilities:

  • Collect and upload large bulk consignments across the UK.
  • Operate a modern HGV fleet, maintaining safety and vehicle condition.
  • Plan and manage your own routes for efficient delivery.
  • Uphold DPD standards and maintain professionalism at all times.
  • Support fleet and operational goals, contributing to the company’s continuous delivery efficiency.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Valid UK Class 1 (Category CE) licence, CPC card and Digital Tachograph card.
  • Minimum 12 months of experience driving Class 1 vehicles.
  • Excellent geographical knowledge of UK roads.
  • Strong safety‑first mindset; proven problem‑solving skills under pressure.
