Job Description
Purpose of the Position
To achieve operational, compliance, financial, customer service, and HR objectives through effective management of employees, maintaining company standards, and adhering to ISO procedures. The \’Shift Manager\’ role is divided into five focus areas: Sortation, Dispatch, Customer Experience, Collection Experience, and PM Operation. Each manager will have specific responsibilities but may be required to support other areas as needed. All Shift Managers should be capable of performing duties across all focus areas.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities
Sortation Manager
- Ensure accurate parcel scanning and manage Goods Out of House (GOH) daily.
- Oversee unloading operations to meet throughput and efficiency targets.
- Utilize and ensure effective use of all IT systems related to sorting.
- Meet productivity, security, and safety standards.
- Conduct staff training and ensure compliance with health & safety procedures.
Dispatch Manager
- Plan routes to meet service targets and manage parcel presentation and security.
- Optimize dispatch productivity and IT system usage.
- Ensure brand and health & safety compliance.
Customer Experience Manager
- Manage on-road service performance and customer contact reduction initiatives.
- Handle escalations and complaints effectively.
- Lead staff training and promote safety standards.
Collection Experience Manager
- Oversee collection operations, ensuring targets are met.
- Manage customer engagement and depot/CRM communication.
- Plan for volume fluctuations and safety protocols.
PM Manager
- Plan staffing and manage productivity targets.
- Ensure accurate processing of parcels and vehicle management.
- Lead health & safety initiatives and operational training.
Qualifications
Proven experience in a fast-paced operation with people management skills, ideally within a transport environment. Strong communication, decision-making, resilience, and data analysis skills are essential. High standards of integrity and alignment with DPD values are required.
