Our Health and Safety General Manager, covering the DPD Network is currently recruiting for an outstanding Health and Safety Advisor to join their highly experienced team. Within this role you will help to drive a high standard of Health and Safety throughout the various sites you will be supporting. You will be responsible for checking and monitoring that those working within Network sites are working safely and in compliance with the various site rules, as well as making recommendations and supporting investigations into health and safety matters. You must be able to work effectively in a team and be able to communicate clearly to all levels within the organisation.
Your other key responsibilities will include:
- Travelling to the various sites you will be working with to carry out onsite visits at key operational times, monitoring that the high standards of health and safety are being adhered to.
- Providing clear, concise and supportive recommendations to sites for improving their health and safety compliance.
- Supporting sites in health and safety investigations.
- Recording your findings onto the relevant health and safety reporting systems.
- Working with the wider health and safety team on compliance and health and safety improvement projects.
Qualifications
To be considered for this role ideally you would previously have worked in a supportive compliance or health and safety role, and have completed some health and safety qualifications or training. You should as a minimum have an understanding of the application of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and its supporting legislation.
You will possess excellent communication skills and be able to communicate to a high standard in numerous formats. You will be comfortable working on your own initiative with the ability to prioritise and effectively manage your time. Due to the size of our operation, the ability to work collaboratively and supportively within the team is critical. You will have strong IT skills with experience of using Microsoft packages or Google Suite. If not already holding Health and Safety qualifications, you must be able to study to achieve a NEBOSH diploma (or similar level) within the first 3 years of employment.
