Job Description
Purpose of Position
As our Regional Fleet Manager your primary responsibility will be to monitor all areas of Fleet compliance for responsible depots and supply support with regards to the depot being able to operate safely and legally. To ensure service provided by the Fleet department is efficient in assisting depots to function legally, safely and efficiently.
- To be one of the named Fleet Managers on the Operators Licence. Applies to licences for areas in which responsible depots are based only.
- To monitor levels of Fleet compliance continually in responsible depots to ensure they operate compliantly.
- To manage and ensure progression to sign off for all Fleet Compliance Rating (FCR) submissions for relevant depots. Submissions must be completed within timescales issued.
- To highlight and rectify any issues found with regards to Fleet compliance at responsible locations and record written details of all issues found.
- To elevate any major issues found at responsible locations if local resolution cannot be reached.
- To train staff at responsible depots to ensure they have sufficient knowledge to monitor and ensure compliance levels locally.
- To conduct induction and refresher training courses on Fleet and related topics.
- To monitor and deal with all aspects of repair agent compliance failures at responsible depots.
- To ensure all repair agents used for O Licence vehicles have a valid vehicle/trailer maintenance contract in place and that this has been escalated to the Fleet Compliance Coordinator for addition to the relevant O Licence.
- Timely completion of four weekly DVSA Earned Recognition maintenance submissions on behalf of responsible depot.
- To undertake project work as and when required. This may be to progressively enhance compliance rates, reviewing systems and procedures or may focus on other key Fleet related areas.
- To conduct investigations into serious RTC’s and liaise with enforcement authorities with regards to such incidents.
- Approving or rejecting all ODF owned vehicle approvals in responsible locations within two working days of notification.
Qualifications
What we’re looking for; To be considered for this role you must hold your International CPC Qualification and have proven and demonstrable experience as a Fleet Manager within a large, fast paced organisation. We will also expect you to be:
- Analytical, data focused, highly organised and have exceptional attention to detail.
- A confident communicator and able to influence at all levels through both verbal and written communications.
- Decisive and effective decision-making, in a time pressured environment.
- Someone that really enjoys resolving problems and demonstrates high levels of resilience, self-motivation and flexibility.
- High standard of computer literacy with a thorough knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite.
