Due to the launch of our new Hub Operation supporting our expanding Out-of-Home (OOH) network—including automated parcel lockers and PUDO pickup points, we are recruiting an experienced Sortation Manager to join our hub operations team. In this role, you will lead high-volume sortation to ensure seamless, accurate processing for customer-convenient deliveries.

Days of Work: Monday - Friday

Hours of Work: 08:00 - 16:30

We are currently recruiting a Plant Operations Manager, to help strengthen and lead our plant operations team within our national sortation Hub in Hinckley. In this role, you will be responsible for managing a Plant Sortation Manager and a small team of skilled operatives who ensure that the sorter is being used as effectively as possible whilst keeping downtime to a minimum. You are responsible for the proactive management of routing of parcels to ensure it is correct for the site, and your involvement in testing is paramount to ensure any problems are highlighted and resolved ready for the sort to begin.

Daily tasks will include:

  • Analysis of large quantities of data
  • Implementation of new ideas and processes to improve our sorting operation
  • Investigating and reporting any system failures back to the General Manager and other hub Senior Managers

Other key responsibilities of the role will be:

  • Management of the Video coding Suite
  • Improving sorter utilisation and productivity to enhance Hub efficiencies
  • Communication with other departments within DPD such as Engineering to ensure the maintenance of sorter equipment at all times
  • Recruitment and development of skilled plant operatives

Due to the time-critical nature of the business, the successful management of your team and area is crucial to ensure the sort cut-off is achieved.

  • Extensive experience in logistics, warehouse or distribution industries
  • Ability to manage and motivate high performing teams
  • Experience of monitoring performance, with the ability to analyse data in order to identify improvements and successfully implement change
  • Outstanding communication skills with the ability to influence strategy
  • Decisive and effective decision-making, problem resolution and time management skills
  • Demonstrate high levels of resilience, self-motivation and flexibility

A Full UK Licence is essential for this role.
