Our Central Security Manager in the East Midlands is looking for a reliable and dedicated Gatehouse Operative.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that only authorised vehicles (DPD, subcontractors and delivery vehicles) are given access and egress to the site.
  • Communicate vehicle movements to other departments within the business.
  • Perform physical checks of vehicle details and seals.
  • Ensure all reported empty trailers arriving or departing are physically checked.
  • Verify that trailer locking systems are working effectively.
  • Work as part of a team to deliver excellent gatehouse security and customer service.
  • Coordinate activities between contractors, employees, and visitors.
  • Liaise with emergency services and other third-party organisations.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a similar position is advantageous; full training will be provided.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a responsible, trustworthy attitude.
  • The ability to use initiative and follow procedures and guidelines.
  • A professional appearance and attitude at times.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours to fit the current shift roster.
