We are currently recruiting for a Cash and Banking Clerk to join our highly experienced Credit Management and Claims team. As the Cash and Banking Clerk you will be responsible for ensuring that cash received is banked and allocated to the system in a prompt and accurate manner. Other key responsibilities will include:

  • Sorting and preparing all incoming cheques for daily banking
  • Creating daily cheque listings
  • Allocating clients' monies correctly to their accounts and contacting clients for allocation details where necessary
  • Setting up new direct debits, making any amendments to direct debits, requesting payment from the bank and dealing with any direct debit queries
  • Monitoring BACs reports to ensure that all failed direct debits and payments are posted to the system promptly
  • Ensuring that all same day and faster payments are allocated to the system promptly and accurately
  • Ensuring that all daily credit card submissions are posted and allocated promptly and accurately
  • Importing BACS payments from the banking system, running auto allocation of payments and then completing manual allocations
  • Handling allocation reversals and account reconciliations
  • Daily reporting

As the successful candidate your career history will evidence demonstrable experience in working within an accounts receivable or cash collection role. Due to the nature of our business, the ability to thrive in a busy and fast-paced environment would be preferred. Your strong organisational skills and high attention to detail are fully utilised in this role. Alongside these you will need to have:

  • The ability to effectively handle challenging conversations and setbacks
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Computer literate with the ability to use Google Suite and in-house computer system Agresso and Salesforce would be advantageous
  • Ability to analyse data, identify errors and rectify any issues
  • Ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders in order to deliver fantastic results
