Full-time position in Finance. Salary: Circa £82,500 plus company car or cash alternative, bonus and Private Medical Insurance. Location: Birmingham, with mandatory travel to Oldbury 3 times per week. Days of Work: Monday to Friday (Hybrid). Hours of Work: 09:00 - 17:00.

The Senior Procurement Manager shall provide category leadership and procurement best practice across IT Infrastructure (Datacentres, Networks, Cyber), Customer Communications Technology, Applications, Professional Services and Hardware (EUC and Infra) as well as support wider strategic transformational systems Projects. Spend remit is c.£50M p/a.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Define, develop and deliver short, medium to long term procurement category strategies aligned to stakeholder and business needs.
  • Develop multi-year sourcing pipelines that drive total value, including significant cost savings against agreed targets.
  • Execute and lead all category sourcing activities, including RFI/RFP development, negotiation strategy, pricing models and implementation.
  • Drive change through skilled stakeholder influencing and cross-departmental collaboration.
  • Perform detailed supply market analysis to determine trends and innovation.
  • Maintain regular and effective internal communication with all stakeholder departments.
  • Contract management of strategic suppliers for organisational gain.
  • Manage strategic supplier service performance in conjunction with operations and the business.
  • Drive procurement compliance across relevant functions, business systems, policies and processes.
  • Team Leadership of IT commercial assets function.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Educated to Degree Level in a Business or Economics related field (desirable).
  • MCIPS or working towards MCIPS status (desirable).
  • Relevant experience sourcing GNFR business products and services (cross-category), ideally within the Logistics sector.
  • Advanced commercial negotiation skills.
  • Proactive relationship building, networking and influencing skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with people at all levels.
  • Demonstrable track record in achieving significant savings and influencing people of all levels.
  • Leadership qualities, organisation, planning & project management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong numeracy and interpretation of financial data.
  • Good IT literacy including MS PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Strong team player, ability to work independently, self-starter.
  • Prepared to travel.
