Salary: Up to: £59,000.00 plus Bonus

Purpose of Position

This role will offer the successful candidate a chance to work in the state of the art workshop and the opportunity to be part of the UK's leading parcel delivery business. This role will be working days covering a continental shift pattern of 4 on 4 off on Days. As the successful Workshop Team Leader you will report directly to the Workshop Manager and be a key member of the team. You will supervise a team of HGV Technicians, subcontractors and parts suppliers, to achieve the VMU objectives in terms of productivity, quality, cost and health and safety through adherence to the company operating standards, procedures and ISO procedures.

Key Task & Responsibilities

  • Assignment of work to Workshop staff to ensure peak productivity in line with business needs
  • Ensuring all workshop staff are carrying out tasks safely and in accordance with both company and external legal processes and procedures
  • Oversee the fitment of replacement parts ensuring all work is necessary and warranty/damage issues are identified
  • Oversee all warranty claims and ensure 100% compliance to procedures
  • Ensure all workshop documentation, reports and team paperwork is completed and returned accurately and in a timely fashion
  • Carry out investigations in relation to MOT failures, component or vehicle failure and contractual issues, where requested by the workshop manager

Qualifications

  • You will have had experience of managing or supervising teams within a similar environment
  • You will have demonstrable experience in repairing Heavy Goods or Heavy Plant machinery, or have knowledge of yellow goods repairs
  • Ideally you will be Level 3 trained in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or be a time served technician
  • You will have knowledge of working on Mercedes, DAF, Dennis, Volvo and Renault vehicles
