Our Head Of People and Talent is looking for a 1st class HR professional to join and strengthen their team of highly skilled People Business Partners. In return we can offer you an excellent basic salary of circa £62,500, a company car or generous cash alternative, attractive bonus scheme that is based on individual and company targets and PMI.
This role will cover a range of our depots centrally so you must be able to travel to all these locations and occasional overnight stays will be expected. The role will require you to be flexible with working hours as we are a 24 hour business. In this role you will report to our People and Talent Manager but you will work closely with the Regional Manager and Training Business Partner to ensure all business objectives are met.
Purpose of Position
You will provide a full "hands on" Human Resource business partnering consultancy service to your assigned business areas through expert knowledge and effective action plans. Responsible for providing both proactive solutions and training and reactive advice and guidance to help assigned areas achieve their business targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Implementing a clear People strategy, ensuring it’s aligned to, supports and adds real value to our business objectives and overall performance
- Deliver key training courses to support managers within the Network.
- Identifying and leading on any specific training needs, along with the provision of appropriate coaching and training to Line Managers on HR related operational matters
- To be seen as a part of the business unit team, actively participating in meetings and projects and building relationships through visibility and availability
- Providing expert guidance and advice to Line Managers on all aspects relating to HR, including any grievance/disciplinary issues and tribunal claims
- Building constructive relationships across the business and providing regular feedback to management teams, helping create a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement
- Monitor and analyse labour turnover/exit interviews/new starter questionnaires and absence stats on a frequent basis, identify the underlying causes of any trends and issues. Propose and implement solutions which assist managers to improve figures and exceed targets.
Qualifications
To be considered for this role as a minimum you must be Level 5 CIPD Qualified (MCIPD). Acting as a central point of contact and expertise for the Network, you’ll be an experienced and qualified HR professional, with a strong commercial outlook and continuous improvement philosophy, who can demonstrate:
- A solid and significant generalist HR background, evidenced by a proven track record in a similar role, preferably gained in a multi-site, unionised environment
- Good all-round knowledge of ‘best practice’ HR principles and procedures, particularly in respect of employee relations, performance management, retention and engagement
- Excellent communication and relationship building skills, plus the ability to provide a quality service, whilst actively promoting and driving positive cultural change across the business
- Flexibility to support and drive forward the operational demands of the role
