Contract: 12 month Fixed Term Contract - 40 hours per week

Location: DPD Hinckley, Logix Road, R D Park, Hinckley, LE10 3BQ

Salary: Circa £55,000

Days of Work: Monday to Friday

Hours of Work: 08:00 - 16:00

Job Description

Our General Manager - Property Services is currently recruiting for a first class Building Maintenance Technician (known internally as a Building Services Technician) to join his team who provide a wide range of maintenance support across our Network of Depots. In this role, you will be responsible for the day‑to‑day maintenance and upkeep of our facilities, ensuring a safe and functional environment for our employees and visitors. Work typically undertaken includes plumbing, decorating, and carpentry (no gas or electrical work is undertaken in this role).

Key responsibilities

  • To carry out day to day property maintenance and the undertaking of allocated property defects.
  • Planned preventive maintenance and decoration schedules in line with company expectations.
  • Undertake all work and repairs to a high standard.
  • Carry out dynamic risk assessments of maintenance and repair activities.
  • Comply with all health, safety and environmental procedures.
  • Maintain and report accurate records of all work undertaken.
  • Work with business supplied equipment, applications, software and in‑house systems.
  • Assist with other facility‑related tasks as assigned such as third‑party contractor inductions and checking off planned and ad‑hoc work carried out by contractors.

Qualifications

To be considered for this role you have extensive and demonstrable experience in a relevant trade(s) and have experience of working within commercial environments, warehousing would be preferred but not essential. We will also expect you to:

  • Possess knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety Regulations, IOSH, COSHH and Manual Handling.
  • Have a full clean driving licence with a flexible approach towards regional travel.
  • Be able to work effectively both as part of a team and independently.
  • Have strong organisational and prioritisation skills.
