The Solicitor is responsible for managing a caseload of client matters, providing high-quality legal advice and representation. Also responsible for contributing to DPA Law’s commercial success whilst ensuring compliance with professional, regulatory and ethical standards.

Responsibilities

  • To manage a varied caseload efficiently and in accordance with DPA Law’s procedures.
  • To provide clear, accurate and timely legal advice to clients.
  • To draft, review and negotiate legal documents and correspondence.
  • To conduct legal research and apply findings to client matters.
  • To represent clients in meetings, negotiations and, where appropriate, Court hearings.
  • To build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring excellent client service and clear communication.
  • To ensure compliance with SRA Standards and Regulations, AML, GDPR and client confidentiality, whilst managing risk and adhering to professional conduct obligations.
  • To maintain accurate time recording and billing, offering monthly forecasts to the Office Manager.
  • To supervise and support Paralegals, Trainees and Support staff.

Supporting Duties

  • To contribute to business development and marketing activities, identifying any opportunities for cross-referrals within DPA Law.
  • To work collaboratively with colleagues across departments and contribute to training and knowledge sharing within DPA Law.
  • To work safely and to undertake training and other health and safety measures relevant to the role.
  • To perform other duties which are not included above, but which are consistent with the post.

Personal Specification

  • Qualifications: Qualified Solicitor with a current practising certificate (Over 2 years working experience required).
  • Experience: Strong technical legal knowledge relevant to the practice area. Experience within all aspects of general litigation.
  • Skills and Abilities: Excellent drafting, analytical and advocacy skills. Strong client care and communication skills. Ability to manage competing deadlines effectively. Strong problem-solving skills. Resilient and adaptable. Team-oriented with a proactive and solutions-focused mindset.
