The role of the IT Business Partner (BP) is to act as a strategic interface between the business and the IT function. The IT Business Partner is a champion for IT within the business and a champion for the business within IT, ensuring strong alignment and mutual understanding between both parties. The BP is responsible for ensuring that business needs are clearly understood, translated, and delivered by IT. This includes the scoping and definition of change initiatives through to the successful completion of the work.
Key responsibilities and duties:
- Builds strong working relationships with key stakeholders across the assigned business area
- Attends relevant business meetings and forums to represent IT and ensure alignment between business requirements and IT capabilities
- Understands both tactical and strategic business requirements and identifies how IT can support them
- Owns the relationship between the business area and IT, acting as an ambassador for IT
- Provides monthly reporting to Steering Committee meetings on the status of change initiatives
