P&O Ferries is seeking a commercially minded and driven B2B Freight Marketing Manager to lead the planning, execution and optimisation of the freight marketing ecosystem.

This is a newly created role with significant opportunity to shape the future of freight marketing and position the function as a central driver of commercial growth.

The successful candidate will play a critical role in aligning marketing activity with the wider freight strategy and sales objectives, supporting pricing and revenue management, sales effectiveness and the rollout and value realisation of Value-Added Services.

This role requires someone equally comfortable developing high-impact content and campaigns as they are delivering the day-to-day sales tools, assets and marketing support needed by commercial teams.

This role will own the freight marketing plan end-to-end, ensuring a clear, consistent proposition across the organisation while developing targeted content and campaigns aligned to key customer verticals and commercial priorities, aligning to the freight sales strategy.

The role will work closely with the wider P&O Ferries marketing team to share resource for content production, ecommerce, brand and communications activity.

Working directly with the Director of Sales & Marketing, you will help deliver a multi-year transformation strategy that evolves freight marketing into a fully integrated commercial marketing function externally by 2028.

This role will in the future build a team to support the delivery of marketing efforts.

Key responsibilities and duties

  • Freight Marketing Strategy & Delivery - Lead the planning, execution and optimisation of the freight marketing strategy in line with wider commercial and sales objectives.
  • Sales Enablement & Commercial Support - Create and manage sales enablement materials for all markets including presentations, brochures, toolkits, customer communications, case studies and campaign assets.
  • Content, Brand & Communications - Develop and implement an always-on B2B content strategy across digital and customer channels.
  • Digital & Customer Experience - Support the modernisation of the digital ecosystem and freight customer experience with the ecommerce team.
  • Stakeholder Management - Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders across sales, commercial, revenue management and leadership in the freight team.

The ideal candidate will have

  • 8+ years proven experience in B2B marketing ideally within freight, logistics, maritime transport, or road/rail, or freight forwarder
  • Strong understanding of commercial marketing and sales enablement.
  • Experience delivering integrated marketing campaigns and content strategies.
  • Ability to manage both strategic initiatives and day-to-day marketing delivery.
  • Experience working closely with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong copywriting, communication and presentation skills.
  • Experience managing digital marketing channels and customer communications.
  • Commercially aware with the ability to align marketing activity to revenue and sales objectives.
