We are seeking a handsāon IT Network Engineer to join and lead our dynamic team. Based out of our London Gateway Port and reporting into our Network Manager, you will play a pivotal role in conducting internal analyses of network performance and traffic analysis, as well as working on projects to improve network performance across DP World.
Our ideal candidate will have solid experience as a Network Engineer within a corporate and industrial space, working on local/onsite networks. In addition, the successful candidate must have experience with Ciscoācentric equipment, Layer 2 and Layer 3 switching, hold a CCNA qualification, and demonstrate capability in managing firewalls and wireless technologies such as access points and Cisco controllers. We are looking for someone with excellent IT expertise and strong Cisco and Nexus knowledge.
Location: Stanford-le-Hope, Essex
Hours: Fullātime, 37.5 hours per week (MonāFri)
About the Role
How you will Contribute
- The network support engineer will monitor the network as defined by the IT procedures and will resolve support issues;
- Maintain and develop the network hardware and software and provide onāsite assistance and troubleshooting;
- Implement network changes into the various environments following company procedures, i.e. change control and security policies;
- Monitor and maintain the clustered high availability solutions across two sites;
- Monitor the Data Centers and Virtual Environments;
- Monitor the site wide network infrastructure, this will include all LAN, WAN and Wireless LAN connections;
- Monitor communication systems;
- Be familiar with DR procedures;
- Supply service desk support facilities;
- Contribute to and develop network documentation;
- Take on other tasks and projects as defined by the Infrastructure Manager.
What you will bring
- Minimum requirement Degree level or equivalent;
- CCNA or higher or equivalent qualifications;
- Familiar with ITIL concepts;
- Commercial awareness;
- Proven experience of supporting large Cisco based Enterprise networks is essential;
- Experience of networking in large industrial environments would be advantageous;
- Have an understanding of Virtualisation and Virtual network technology such as Cisco UCS and VMware;
- Understanding of network design and architectures;
- Demonstrable ability to work within a team and to liaise effectively with third parties;
- Excellent knowledge of networking;
- Ability to respond quickly to incidents and urgent requests;
- Work effectively under pressure and the ability to contribute to multiple concurrent projects;
- Good communication skills;
- Familiarity of one or more of the following: Checkpoint Firewalls; IPSEC VPNs (Remote Access and SiteātoāSite); CISCO ISE; F5 Load balancers.
