CNS are currently recruiting for a QA Analyst to take ownership of day‑to‑day Quality Assurance across our legacy applications as we transition to a modern Azure‑based platform. You’ll lead end‑to‑end UAT delivery within fast‑paced sprints—working from requirements in Jira and Confluence to writing and executing test cases, raising defects, escalating risks, and providing clear daily updates. This role is hands‑on and communication‑heavy: you’ll collaborate closely with BAs and Project Managers, present progress to stakeholders, and ensure every release meets the highest standards. We’re looking for an experienced manual tester with strong maritime, logistics, TOS, or CNS domain knowledge—ideally 8+ years.

Location: Southampton, Hybrid

Hours: Monday – Friday 37.5 hours per week

Contract: 18 Month FTC

How you will contribute:

  • Rapidly acquire knowledge and grasp the intricacies of the solution to ensure comprehensive testing of end‑to‑end business processes during the user acceptance testing (UAT) phase.
  • Assume the role of a self‑reliant primary liaison for projects, taking ownership of all QA activities throughout the software development lifecycle and maintaining QA governance standards.
  • Collaborate within an Agile delivery team environment.
  • Develop, plan, and execute functional testing, including system integration testing (SIT), UAT, Business Acceptance Testing, regression testing, and end‑to‑end testing.
  • Interpret requirements, formulate test scenarios, draft test cases, and create test plans.
  • Formulate functional test strategies and assist the QA Lead in devising strategies for performance testing.
  • Record defects and manage end‑to‑end defect lifecycle utilizing JIRA.
  • Cultivate comprehensive knowledge of company systems and processes.
  • Engage with project stakeholders and provide status updates to senior team members.
  • Support initiatives for process improvement and compliance, with a primary emphasis on enhancing customer satisfaction with the delivered product.
  • Maintain and oversee test equipment and test environments.
  • Demonstrate adaptability, technical proficiency, and a commitment to continuous productivity and quality improvement by enhancing skills in both domain knowledge and technical expertise.
  • Undertake additional project‑related responsibilities as needed.

What you will bring:

  • Diploma/ Degree in a business or technology discipline (desirable).
  • Experience in the Maritime and Port Management domain, encompassing Port Community Systems, Customs Clearance, Cargo Management, Supply Chain, Security and Compliance, Billing, and Freight Management Systems (Essential).
  • Proven track record of working in Agile environments, demonstrating proficiency in Agile methodologies (Must).
  • API Testing experience, with preference given to those skilled in utilizing the Postman tool (Must).
  • Experience in SQL database testing, with a demonstrated ability to navigate SQL databases effectively (Essential).
  • Proficiency in conducting Web‑based application testing, particularly in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and Business Acceptance Testing, showcasing an understanding of business processes and a focus on end‑to‑end (E2E) business process testing (Must).
  • Extensive experience as an individual contributor, adept at collaborating with development teams, Project Managers (PM), and Business Analysts (BA) (Must).
  • Essential experience in user‑centric testing, encompassing User Interface (UI) and User Experience (UX) evaluation (Essential).
  • Established expertise as a subject matter expert in business processes within relevant domains (Essential).
  • Proficiency in utilizing JIRA and Confluence tools to facilitate effective project management and collaboration (Essential).
  • Experience of supporting performance testing activities (Good to have).
  • Demonstrated adherence to QA Governance processes and participation in QA activities across the Software Development Lifecycle (Essential).
