DP World is looking for a Senior Maintenance Technician to join our engineering department.

This role will work alongside the Team Leader and step into that role when needed.

You will perform day and night shifts (6‑6), covering weekdays & weekends, with 12‑hour shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee preventative maintenance, repairs, and project‑related work on all Quay Crane equipment.
  • Assist with new equipment delivery, inspection, erection, and commissioning.
  • Collect and provide data for preventive, emergency and corrective maintenance tasks to Engineering Planners.
  • Coordinate with planners to execute maintenance plans and manage workloads.
  • Coordinate with engineering stores to maintain stock levels and place new orders.
  • Manage the team of technicians and ensure timely response to breakdowns.
  • Supervise external contractors, ensuring safe working practices.
  • Support improvement of method statements, risk assessments and PM task lists.
  • Encourage safe work procedures and practices.
  • Compile and distribute shift reports.

Qualifications

  • National Qualifications Framework – minimum Level 3 (NVQ, City & Guilds, etc.).
  • Professional qualification in an electrical discipline.
  • Professional qualification in a mechanical discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • Excellent knowledge of equipment maintenance and engineering.
  • Experience with HSE regulations related to equipment maintenance.
  • Excellent communication, personal and teamwork skills.
  • Dynamic, creative and innovative approach.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
  • Full valid UK driving licence or appropriate international licence.
  • No unspent criminal convictions.
  • Must weigh under 130kg (due to safety weight limits).
