DP World are recruiting for an experienced and results-driven Plant Manager to lead our Operations team at our Minworth facility. This role is responsible for the overall performance of the site, ensuring the safe, efficient, and profitable delivery of operations while meeting customer expectations and business objectives.
The successful candidate will provide strategic and operational leadership across safety, quality, delivery, cost, people, and environmental performance. Working closely with customers, senior management, and internal teams, the Plant Manager will drive continuous improvement, develop organisational capability, and identify opportunities to support future business growth.
How you will contribute
- Lead the day-to-day and strategic management of the plant, ensuring operational, customer, and financial objectives are achieved.
- Ensure customer expectations and service level agreements are consistently met or exceeded, building strong relationships with key customer stakeholders.
- Present operational performance, KPIs, improvement initiatives, and future plans through regular customer and senior management reviews.
- Develop and deliver the site's business plan, annual operating budget, and longer-term strategy, ensuring financial and operational targets are achieved.
- Drive performance across key areas including Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, People, and Environmental performance.
- Create and embed a strong continuous improvement culture, encouraging employee involvement and identifying opportunities to improve productivity, reduce waste, and enhance operational efficiency.
- Lead Lean and productivity initiatives, ensuring improvement projects deliver measurable and sustainable results.
- Identify and implement best practice from across DP World and external industries to strengthen site performance.
- Build, lead, and develop a high-performing management team, promoting strong communication, accountability, engagement, and employee development.
- Promote positive employee relations and create an inclusive, collaborative working environment across all levels of the operation.
- Work closely with Business Development and Account Management teams to identify new business opportunities and support the growth and profitability of the site.
- Ensure the site remains operationally and commercially ready to support new business opportunities and future growth.
- Maintain and develop Quality and Environmental Management Systems, including supporting ISO 14001 requirements and management reviews.
- Represent DP World professionally within the local business community and build positive relationships with customers, suppliers, industry groups, and other stakeholders.
- Act as an ambassador for DP World, promoting company values, ethical standards, safety, and a culture of continuous improvement.
What you will bring
- Previous experience in a senior operational leadership role within manufacturing, logistics, automotive, or a similarly complex operational environment.
- Proven experience managing the overall performance of a site or large operational function, including safety, quality, productivity, cost, and people performance.
- Strong commercial and financial awareness, with experience managing budgets, business plans, and operational targets.
- Demonstrable experience driving continuous improvement, Lean initiatives, productivity improvements, and waste reduction.
- Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to build, develop, and motivate high-performing teams.
- Excellent customer and stakeholder management skills, with experience engaging and presenting at senior management level.
- Experience working within the automotive industry, including Tier 1 environments, would be advantageous.
- A background in production, materials management, quality, or manufacturing operations would be beneficial.
- Knowledge of Quality and Environmental Management Systems, including ISO 14001, would be advantageous.
- A degree or equivalent qualification in Logistics, Manufacturing, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline is preferred.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, decision-making, and organisational skills.
- A strategic mindset combined with a hands-on approach and the ability to lead effectively in a fast-paced operational environment.
