We are actively looking for an insurance director to head up our European insurance team. You will be working with the global team to manage all of the insurance policies for the businesses in Europe which include logistics, freight, maritime and ports and terminals.
This is an incredibly dynamic role where you will be spending your time managing contracts as well as building long term relationships with key stakeholders. You will be working very closely with the global team supporting their work with global insurance companies and making sure that the agreements are fit for the European region.
You will manage a team that is based in both the UK and Germany who support across the various pillars and are the operational, business facing part of the team. You will mentor and manage the team helping to develop their skills as well as managing their day to day workload.
As part of this role you will be developing the strategic direction for the insurance team for Europe making sure that key activity is being managed and your plan is being implemented. You will start with a blank slate that will allow you to really develop the future strategy and provide input into the global plans and agreements.
Key skills and experience include:
- Extensive experience of working within the insurance field ideally from within a large corporate organisation.
- Previous experience of working in or for the logistics or supply chain industry is vital.
- Strong team management experience and the ability to coach and lead a multicultural team.
- An inquisitive mind and a strong desire to question yearly renewals to develop new ways of working.
- A relationship builder who is comfortable managing complex relationships and providing mutually beneficial solutions.
- An analytical mind who can forensically interrogate contracts and provide commentary to realise benefits for the organisation.
