DP World are recruiting for a skilled and experienced Demand Planning Manager to join our growing Operations team. This role is responsible for supporting operational performance through effective demand forecasting, capacity planning, and resource optimisation. The successful candidate will work closely with operational teams to analyse customer demand, identify trends, and provide practical recommendations to ensure the site has the right resources in place to meet business requirements and achieve key performance targets.
About The Role
How you will contribute:
- Analyse short and medium-term customer forecasts to identify capacity requirements, resource demand spikes, and operational trends, providing clear and effective recommendations to the Operations team.
- Develop and maintain internal and external reporting packs covering forecasts, demand trends, capacity plans, and resource requirements to support operational decision-making.
- Build strong relationships with operational teams, acting as a key partner on workforce planning and resource management activities.
- Coordinate capacity and resource planning across multiple departments, teams, agencies, and DP World locations to ensure operational requirements are met.
- Manage and maintain system parameters, including productivity data, within capacity and resource planning models, monitoring effectiveness and recommending improvements.
- Work closely with the training team to support workforce onboarding plans and coordinate training activities for new employees.
- Analyse operational processes and identify opportunities for continuous improvement and increased efficiency.
- Support the continuous improvement agenda through involvement in Kaizen activities, JDI initiatives, and process enhancement projects.
- Lead, support, and develop an engaged team, ensuring individuals are aligned with business objectives and performance goals.
- Act as an ambassador for DP World, promoting company values, safety standards, ethical practices, and a positive working culture at all times.
Your Key Skills/Experience
- Previous experience in demand planning, workforce planning, resource planning, or a similar operational role, ideally within a logistics or warehouse environment.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret customer forecasts, identify trends, and provide data-driven recommendations.
- Good level of Maths and English.
- Experience working with Warehouse Management Systems and strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced operational environment.
- A proactive and results-focused approach, with the ability to work independently and deliver against deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accuracy across reporting, planning, and operational activities.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams and build strong working relationships.
- High level of integrity with the ability to maintain confidentiality of company information.
- Relevant logistics experience is essential, with MTM experience desirable.
