DP World are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 1 Driver to join our Transport Operations team based in Bicester. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional and safety-focused driver to play a key role in delivering a reliable, on-time service to our customers. Working within a fast-paced logistics environment, you will be responsible for ensuring goods are transported safely, efficiently, and in line with all regulatory requirements, while benefiting from a structured working pattern and supportive environment.
We offer a range of shift options, a Monday to Thursday working pattern with only occasional Fridays, and no loading or unloading responsibilities—allowing you to focus on driving. You’ll also benefit from paid training, including Driver CPCs, and routes that do not require planned nights out.
About the role:
- Safely operate HGV Class 1 vehicles in accordance with all legal and company requirements.
- Supervise the loading of vehicles to ensure goods are securely loaded and protected from damage.
- Ensure all deliveries are completed safely, respecting customer property and consulting with customers or management where necessary.
- Check and confirm deliveries with customers, obtaining signatures and completing all required documentation.
- Use company-issued technology (e.g. tablets) as part of daily operations.
- Deliver a high standard of customer service at all times.
- Comply with tachograph regulations and driver hours legislation.
- Take responsibility for vehicle care, minimising damage and maintaining cleanliness of the cab.
- Complete daily vehicle inspection checks and report findings to the Shift Manager.
- Promptly report any accidents or incidents in line with company procedures.
- Attend all required training to maintain compliance and capability within the role.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including Health & Safety and performance standards.
Your Key Skills:
- Valid LGV Class 1 (C+E) Licence.
- License: no more than 6 penalty points.
- Valid Driver Qualification Card (DQC).
- Valid Digital Tachograph Card.
- Previous experience in a similar driving role, delivering a professional and customer-focused service.
- Strong awareness of Health & Safety practices.
- Good numeracy and literacy skills.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with customers and colleagues.
- High attention to detail and a diligent approach to work.
- Ability to work to deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to work additional hours when required.
- Experience within the automotive sector (desirable).
