We have an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Engineer to join our infrastructure team based at the London Gateway Port in Stanford le Hope - Essex. In this role you will ensure availability of uninterrupted power to London Gateway Port and Park and ensure appropriate power solutions are planned and constructed to meet the current and future demands of Port and Park.
About The Role
- Maintain electrical infrastructure of port and park up to industry standards while ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and national/international standards.
- Ensure electrical infrastructure of the port and business park are planned and installed to times, capacity and standards necessary for the operation and expansion of container port and business park.
- Prepare and implement strategy to maintain the electrical infrastructure of port and park.
- Management and supervision of consultants, contractors and engineers required to construct, maintain and switch electrical infrastructure of port and park.
- Ensure contracts are in place to call third party support to recover network from unexpected shutdown.
- Ensure proficient working of SCADA and BMS to monitor electricity consumption of buildings, terminal lighting and equipment.
- Implementation of a metering strategy to record network losses and consumption of tenants and internal cost centres.
- Ensure 100% availability and reliability of Electrical supply to the port and park.
- Implement cost efficient and reliable strategy to manage/maintain the electrical infrastructure of the park considering the business needs of tenants and LG’s business objectives.
- Develop skills and knowledge to manage day to day switching and electrical issues at the port and park.
- Plan timely maintenance of Electrical infrastructure while considering the operational and statutory requirements.
- Ensure that LG’s Electrical Safe Systems of Works is updated to latest standards and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure compliance to Safe Systems of Works and that all documentation is kept in order.
- Manage a variety of electrical infrastructure construction or maintenance contracts to time, budget and the quality expected.
Your Key Skills
- HND or Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience considered).
- Demonstrable experience of HV network (>11kV) switching.
- Demonstrable experience with HV cable jointing and terminating.
- In depth knowledge and experience of maintaining and/or managing HV networks.
- 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations is BS 7671:2018 A2:2022.
- Demonstrable experience of proactive problem solving and innovation, driving operational efficiency and excellence.
- Good understanding and experience of businesses requiring 24/7 support.
