We are currently recruiting for a Media Relations Manager to join our prestigious regional head office in central London. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and enhancing the company\’s media presence and reputation across a large and varied business portfolio in Europe.

Reporting to the Director of Media Relations Europe, the successful candidate will work closely with national and trade media and implement effective media strategies that are consistent with DP World Europe\’s business objectives.

The job holder will collaborate with internal stakeholders, including communications colleagues and business units, as well as our communications agencies. You will be flexible, willing to travel in the UK and European mainland and comfortable with ongoing change. You will also be open to the exciting professional development opportunities that DP World Europe offers.

How you will contribute

  • The jobholder will develop and execute media relations strategies that promote DP World Europe\’s brand, values, and business objectives.
  • They will act as a point of contact for media inquiries and manage relationships with journalists.
  • Identify and media opportunities to enhance DP World Europe\’s visibility and opinion leadership.
  • Develop key messages, press releases, and other media materials.
  • Monitor and analyse media coverage and industry trends to identify potential risks and opportunities for DP World Europe.
  • Prepare the leadership team and subject matter experts for media interviews and briefings.
  • Develop and maintain a crisis communication plan to effectively manage and respond to reputational media issues and operational incidents.

What will you bring

  • You will have an innate sense of how a journalist works and enjoy engaging with them on regular basis.
  • Bachelor\’s degree or equivalent.
  • Minimum five years’ experience in public relations and/or journalism, preferably with experience working in industry.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills.
  • Experience in crisis communication and reputational issues management.
  • Ability to develop and execute successful media relations strategies consistent with business objectives.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively and build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Full proficiency in English, with an additional European language desirable.
