DP World are currently recruiting for PDI Technicians to join our brand new multi-user warehouse based in Coventry (Segro Park). The purpose of these roles is to deliver efficient and high-quality pre-delivery installation, inspection, and testing of technical devices (including printers and photocopiers), associated third-party hardware, and pre-installation of relevant software. The role ensures that all equipment is fully operational and configured to customer specifications prior to final delivery. This role could also be a consideration for Warehouse Operatives who have a strong interest or experience in technical/computer related repair or configuration.
About the role
- Perform pre-delivery installation and configuration of technical devices (including printers and photocopiers) and related hardware/software.
- Ensure all machines meet quality standards before dispatch.
- Provide technical assistance, coaching, and support to colleagues and trainees.
- Ensure training covers all aspects of PDI (pre-delivery installation), including scripting and DOA repairs.
- Perform factory-level repairs on DOA (Dead on Arrival) machines.
- Engage in technical scripting for Managed Print Services (MPS) and large-scale projects.
- Contribute ideas to enhance PDI workflows and repair practices.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across the team.
- Record and report daily activity and performance data accurately in supplied tooling to support operational transparency and management reporting.
- Achieve service level agreements (SLAs) related to PDI output, refurbishment, and repair work.
- Maintain high standards of accuracy and efficiency.
Your Key Skills
- Previous experience in repairing, configuring and installing software/hardware (either in a personal or professional capacity) ideally within a logistics type environment.
- Background in computer/tech repairs would be beneficial.
- Strong warehouse operations experience with an interest or passion for technical/computer repairs and/or configuration.
- Electro/Mechanical skills with computers/printers/photocopiers highly desirable.
- High degree of technical competency, accuracy and attention to detail.
- Experience of working within warehousing or logistics highly desirable.
- Team working mindset.
- Strong work ethic with excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
