We have an exciting opportunity for a Commercial Specialist to join our team. The primary focus will be providing focused support to the existing Bid Management teams to allow the continued development of these services to the internal customer stakeholders. This role will involve a variety of analytical, coordination and administration support. This role will be a remote working position and can be based anywhere in the UK or Slovakia (with ad hoc European travel required occasionally).

About the role:

  • To work closely with the Bid Managers and provide the necessary input and support as required.
  • Execute and run the contract logistics bid management process in Europe. This includes management of the active current process as agreed (globally) as well as identifying and developing process and business change enhancements to make our business more efficient and effective in how we grow/respond to customer enquiries.
  • For each separate opportunity, engage the local Sales/Commercial lead team to align on specific role to support the opportunities required.
  • Manage all required opportunities through the defined DPW Logistics Europe bid management process that is applicable and aligned to the respective separate regional needs. This will cover the “Opportunity assessment” stage right through to “Closed & Won” when we have a signed contract from our customer.
  • Run the required “Go/No Go” calls with the respective functional leads in the region (or sub-region) and communicate the decisions within the business.
  • Help to set up and attend as necessary any “Kick off” meetings with the respective response teams for an opportunity.
  • Senior Stakeholder engagement and management (SVP level and higher as appropriate) needed to keep this process on track to make sure our opportunity presentations and customer commercial offers are all approved within the business.
  • Gather the necessary information from the opportunity lead and finance teams to enable an opportunity to be presented to the Regional Customer Council (RCC) for approval.
  • Work independently and handle, track & prioritise multiple RFQ response assignments concurrently.
  • This role is about providing the necessary capacity support so the Bid Managers have the capacity to develop the Bid Management process further and drive greater quality and value propositions into our customer submissions.
  • Responsible for the accuracy of all opportunities in the CRM system – driving opportunity owners to update the entries so the correct pipeline reporting and outputs used to set REF forecasts and budgets.
  • Work closely with the Business Analyst in the creation of reporting and analytics as required within the Europe business.
  • Create, build and/or support all managerial reporting from the CRM system(s) both reactively – and, more importantly in a proactive manner.
  • Build and create investigative data analytics from the DPWorld data/CRM data to support any strategic based questions and analysis required to grow the business.
  • Provide CRM data analysis to support any external strategic market intelligence business requirement that may be required to support the growth focus.

Your Key Skills:

  • Have a minimum of 3 years’ experience working in commercial processes within the supply chain sector (3PL/Warehousing).
  • Analytical exposure working within a commercial role.
  • Have exposure to project management and be knowledgeable with the fundamentals of project management (resource allocations, time constraints, predecessor and successor activities, key milestones and ultimate deliverables).
  • Proven history of accountability and ownership of project deliverables.
  • Experience of the customer engagement and growth process and the associated back-office systems and processes needed to support this core strategic requirement of a business.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Intermediate Excel skills to include a minimum of Pivot Tables and Look ups.
